Offshoring companies are a major source of employment, workforce skills development, and know-how transfer, stated Mamoun Bouhadhoud, the Delegate Minister to the Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment, and Digital Economy, in charge of Small Businesses and the Integration of the Informal Sector.
Speaking at the official inauguration of the Intelcia call center in El-Jadida, the minister reaffirmed his department's commitment to strengthening the Kingdom's attractiveness as an offshoring destination. He recalled two recently signed agreements to develop this sector and provide it with the competitiveness factors needed to contribute MAD 16 billion to GDP and create 100,000 jobs by 2020.
He also mentioned the 2014-2020 National Industrial Acceleration Plan, with a budget of MAD 20 billion, which includes developing 1,000 hectares of land and bank commitments to support project leaders.
Morocco currently hosts nearly 100 offshoring companies, including global leaders, the minister noted. He stated that Intelcia's decision to establish this new unit in El Jadida will strengthen the economic and industrial growth of this province.
Karim Bernoussi, CEO of the Intelcia Group, indicated that the call center will create 250 jobs, mainly for young people in El Jadida, which has a strong talent pool and a promising job market.
"Intelcia relies on local talent, trained and graduated in El Jadida. Thanks to our approach focused on the development and support of our employees, the most promising profiles will certainly be part of our future management," he said.
Intelcia is the first customer relations center to be established in El Jadida. Built on an area of 1,640 m², over three floors and accommodating up to 250 employees, Intelcia's eighth customer relations platform required an investment of MAD 10 million.
This expansion is part of the group's development strategy in Morocco and internationally. The group grew from 300 to 3,300 employees between 2009 and 2012, and its turnover increased from MAD 79 million in 2010 to MAD 722 million in 2013.
