Morocco: Casablanca, second largest African city.

Morocco's economic stability is rewarded by a new economic ranking placing Casablanca in 2nd position among African cities.

According to Mastercard's 2014 index of growth of African cities, Casablanca has a potential for inclusive growth estimated at a "medium-high" level. That is to say, its economy promotes employment and therefore social cohesion. Even if the structure of the economy is still fragile, the resources necessary to ensure a competitive economy are well present in the country.

The Moroccan city ranks second among major cities. At the top of the ranking, the Ghanaian capital Accra is hailed for the second consecutive year.

Casablanca had already made a remarkable entry into the ranking of global financial centers last March, taking the second position on the African continent.

This ranking is a representation that aims to be reliable of the cities most conducive to foreign investment. It takes into account GDP growth per capita, urbanization rate, political stability, security, etc...

Morocco is the only country with Nigeria that has three of its cities in the top 20 of the ranking. Rabat and Fes are ranked 15th and 17th respectively.
