Microsoft: Tunis: Tunisiana supports Startups going international.

Closing of the 6th edition of its startup sponsorship program. Since its launch in 2007, this program has seen the creation of over 60 innovative projects that have gained national and even international recognition. This edition was distinguished by an increase in the number of startups: in addition to the selected startups, those registered in Tunisiana's Startup Factory program, and others from the Souk-At-Tanmia initiative launched by the African Development Bank, were also part of the program. At the closing ceremony, 12 startups from the 2013 edition were rewarded in the presence of Tawfik Jelassi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and ICT, Ms. Kathleen Hanson, Head of Mission at the US Embassy, and Kenneth Campbell, CEO of Tunisiana.

During the ceremony, Microsoft and Tunisiana announced the consolidation of their startup programs (Microsoft's Annual Startup Sponsorship Program and Tunisiana's Startup Factory), creating a more integrated and comprehensive initiative, offering richer support to young startups. Kenneth Campbell emphasized: "We are pleased to join forces with Microsoft, providing more opportunities for our young entrepreneurs and giving them the necessary means to succeed in their projects. We are certain that the next collaboration with Microsoft will strengthen the impact on employment and business creation in Tunisia."

At the end of the ceremony, 4 startups were rewarded. Two of them participated in January in the PITME (Progress In Technology Middle East) program in Silicon Valley, intended for startups in the MENA region. Their participation was jointly supported by Microsoft's 4Afrika initiative and Tunisiana Startup Factory. The two startups are Disrupt CK founded by Zied Jallouli, and Linkao, co-founded by Elyes Jeribi, Hichem Njeh and Beyram Belhaj Amor. For the latter: "This experience was very enriching. We were in contact with mentors and experts from day one. This helped us a lot to develop our business model and establish the necessary contacts to enter new markets."

The two other rewarded startups were Famissima and E-Devis.tn, which made significant progress on their projects and distinguished themselves by strong local innovation. Famissima also participated in DemoAfrica in Kenya as one of the top innovative African startups of the year.
