The number of people registered with employment offices in the Kebili governorate fell by 39% in 2013 compared to 2012, dropping from 6,158 to 3,766. "This decrease is due to the efforts made by the services involved in training and employment, which have helped support and encourage job seekers to create micro-businesses," said the regional director of employment, Boulbaba Karrou, to the TAP agency correspondent in the region.
According to the report from the regional employment directorate, the number of beneficiaries of professional life initiation internships for executives increased by 8%, reaching 2,245 in 2013 compared to 2,076 in 2012.
The number of beneficiaries of the employment incentive program increased by 103% (from 551 in 2012 to 1,116 in 2013 during the same period). According to the same source, the number of beneficiaries of the promoter support program increased by 42%, with 320 registered in 2012 compared to 454 in 2013.
Furthermore, the number of beneficiaries of the voluntary civil service program decreased by 29%.
Similarly, a 20% decrease was recorded in the number of participants in the adaptation and integration contract program for non-executives. According to the regional director, the decrease in direct employment operations in the region is due to the lack of large companies that can offer stable employment to graduates in the region. "During 2013, only 138 direct employment operations were recorded in the construction, energy, and oil company sectors in the region," he added.
It should be noted that the regional commission examined 40 applications to benefit from the self-financing program, and 19 projects were selected.
On the other hand, the commission approved the granting of start-up funds to 203 promoters.
