Our Contemporary Pillars of Life…

Our modern life, for most people, considers five major, fundamental, and essential pillars, called, in contemporary jargon, "the five areas of life": couple, family, work, leisure, personal development - health and finances naturally integrating into the essential parameters mentioned here…

Thus, absorbed by the daily routine, overwhelmed by events, rushing headlong, we find ourselves somewhat unable to put things into perspective, to take a step back… and have some fun!

Ask yourself when your last romantic evening with your loved one was, how long it’s been since you played freely, hide-and-seek or cards with your children, how long it’s been since you spent a morning devouring an adventure novel…

Above all, ask yourself what real importance you give to each area of your life and, to do so, sit down with a pen and paper to answer some interesting questions for a little reframing exercise. On a scale of 1 (minimum) to 10 (maximum), specify numerically the space of importance you give to your five pillars. Then ask your spouse (and/or your children) to do the same, putting themselves in your place, writing down the numbers they think you associate with. The result will undoubtedly surprise you, as everyone’s reality is very subjective, but it will reassure you, as there is no perfect answer, the important thing is not to ignore the milestones you have set to define your daily life and your pleasant "routine".

Let’s remember that, generally, it is established that our modern societies function with, as a foundation, these seven central points which are…
• personality (what I am and how I express it)
• needs (my main and non-negotiable needs)
• values (what is of deep interest to the being that I am)
• the ability to build and remain positive (what builds my satisfaction)
• the limits I set (within the framework of my relationships and actions)
• the human and friendly network (as well as the place I give to each person)
• the ability to make the present a pleasant and appreciated place.

It may also be interesting to take the time to take the numerical test with your loved ones, for the seven areas.
