Our checklist for a successful job interview

 

 

Improvisation is not recommended during a job interview! Make sure to prepare correctly and not to forget anything. On the day, you will only have one chance to convince. Check this checklist to see if you are really ready!

The basics
Review the job description you are applying for.
Go through your CV and cover letter to know exactly what they contain.
Know the name and position of the person you will meet.
Know where the company is located and prepare your route.
Adapt your outfit to the type of company you are applying for.

Selling yourself
Determine which previous experiences are important for the position to be filled.
Prepare convincing arguments and review them the day before the interview.
Practice speaking in front of a mirror to look confident.
If your CV has any 'gaps', prepare positive justifications.
Think of some professional references that you can give to the recruiter (always ask these people beforehand if you can cite them as references).

Questions
Know how to explain why you are looking for a new job and why you are leaving your current employer.
Think about three of your 'acceptable' flaws and three of your qualities.
Prepare to answer very open-ended questions. Some examples: Where do you see yourself in five years? What if you told me about yourself? Why should we hire you?

Show your interest!
Bring something to write with to take some notes.
Find out about the potential employer.
Think of a few questions about the position and the company (responsibilities, etc.).
Inquire about the next steps in the recruitment process.
