“We’ll contact you”: This is the name of the Tumblr that has been buzzing since May 1st and Labor Day. Launched by Europe Ecology, the European campaign for ecologists, the site lists the most twisted questions asked by recruiters during job interviews. Here is a selection.
“Aren’t you afraid of being bored with all those diplomas?”, “You have two years of experience?”, “Would it bother you to change your first name?”… Here are some gems among hundreds heard by candidates during job interviews. Between sexism, racism, inappropriate questions and bordering on interrogation, some recruiters do not hesitate to overstep the limits. On the occasion of May 1st and Labor Day, Europe Ecology, the European campaign for ecologists, lists in a colorful Tumblr the insidious and off-the-wall little questions that job seekers have had to endure.
“We’ll contact you”, that’s its name, presents a gallery of French people who have one day or another had to answer these questions during interviews. Everyone will find themselves in it, and as proof, the Tumblr has been buzzing since its launch less than a week ago. “To celebrate work, you would still need to have one” underline the authors of the site who wish with these testimonial photos “to denounce the abuses frequently encountered during job searches”.
Incongruous, unusual, or downright abusive: discover the most surprising and shocking testimonials:
1) “Would it bother you if part of it was undeclared?”
2) “The job is filled but we are looking for an assistant”
3) “Do you wear skirts?”
4) “And your partner, does he work?”
5) “Do you have a vehicle?”
6) “Would it bother you to change your first name?”
