The functionalities of both platforms are insufficiently exploited.
It is important to liven up your profile/virtual space through membership in thematic groups.
You are certainly already registered on LinkedIn and Viadeo. Two reference sites for professional networking, commonly known as "social networking." However, very few executives make the most of the features of these preferred platforms to find job and business opportunities.
First golden rule: you must take care of your profile. No question of being content with basic information on your virtual storefront (first name, last name, function, and position). The various recommendations relating to LinkedIn are applicable to the other French-speaking platform Viadeo, which brings together more than 30 million registered users (profiles, applications, and synchronization options). As a bonus, the use of LinkedIn can be more fluid and optimal for members who have an iPhone, Blackberry, or Palm through the mobile version http://m.linkedin.com.
