Regarding business creation, the trend is upward in Greater Casablanca. Progress is 17% compared to the first five months of 2009.
During the first five months of this year, 2965 businesses were created in Casablanca according to the Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Greater Casablanca. This figure shows a 17% increase compared to the same period in 2009. This upward trend was clearly observed during the month of May, with the creation of 591 businesses. The number of new structures is thus up more than 20% compared to May 2009. Regarding the legal forms of these businesses, 90% of them are limited liability companies (SARL). This choice explains the continued enthusiasm of entrepreneurs for this type of legal form. In terms of sector breakdown, commerce (51%) and services (41%) remain the most popular sectors for new entrepreneurs. "Regarding the Business Creation window, our mandate is clear: to facilitate and streamline the process. To do this, we are deploying all human, technological and organizational efforts to improve our productivity and efficiency, with the ultimate goal of finally making online creation possible. The project is underway and we are working hard on it with all stakeholders and partners," says Hamid Ben Elafdil, director of the CRI of Greater Casablanca, in a press release. In addition, the significant increase in the influence and number of files processed at the CRI counters "has not, however, impacted the time required to complete the administrative formalities," underlines a press release from the CRI of Greater Casablanca. Referring to the same source, the delay has even been reduced to less than three days. As a result, the business creation file takes an average of 2.7 working days to be processed by the various services grouped at the CRI. "These performances are the result of a process re-engineering effort in which the CRI of Greater Casablanca has been engaged for several years, as well as the introduction of new technologies to improve the quality of service we offer to our clients," indicates the press release, quoting an official from the CRI of Greater Casablanca. It should be recalled that the CRI of Greater Casablanca embarked on a quality process in 2007. The latter was crowned by obtaining the ISO 9001 version 2000 Certificate. The implementation of the customer-oriented quality approach was supported by the center for business creators and investors.
