Profile of Moroccans living abroad who wish to return home

More and more Moroccans residing abroad are expressing a desire to return home and contribute their expertise to their country.

We have therefore looked into their profiles to create an overview of these Moroccans from abroad who wish to come back home.

This study is based on 5 different axes: country of origin, current position, sector of activity, level of experience, and declared salary (in euros).

This study is based on figures extracted from our database of registered users on ReKrute.com, which currently has 297,000 candidates in the Morocco network and 29,692 residents abroad.

Where do international candidates come from?

It has been observed that France has the highest number of candidates (67%), far ahead of other countries such as Canada (5%), Belgium (3%) and the United States (2%).

This is explained by the fact that France is the top destination for Moroccan students after high school. In addition to this, there is a large concentration of Moroccans who have lived there for generations.

Positions held

A great diversity in the positions held has been observed. Positions in sales (10%), project management (9%), IT (7%), production (7%) and purchasing (7%) can be listed... This wide range of positions is very interesting because it can complement the local service offer.

Sectors represented

Almost all sectors are represented, with Banking/Finance (7%), IT (6%) and Aeronautics/Space (6%) leading the way. We can say that the sectors represented internationally are better distributed and more diversified than in the Moroccan market where 8 sectors account for 54% of candidates.

Level of experience

The majority are people with more than 20 years of experience (29%), followed by 10 to 20 years of experience (23%). Overall, 73% of international candidates have more than 5 years of experience. We therefore see that returning candidates are much more experienced than the average in the Moroccan market which only records 26% of candidates with at least 5 years of experience.

Salaries requested

36% of international candidates have salary expectations in the 1700-3500 Euro range. More varied professional skills and therefore potentially interesting for the Moroccan market and much more experience explain the demands of these candidates and therefore a much higher salary expectation.
