Recruitment of 1200 Tunisian Cooperators during the First Half of 2013

The Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation (ATCT) reports that 1200 Tunisian cooperators, including 62 first-time job seekers, were recruited during the first half of 2013, a 12% increase compared to the same period in 2012.
The education and teaching sector led with 529 recruits (44% of total recruitment). The health sector followed with 246 recruits, then engineering with 154 cooperators.
Arab countries remained the top destination for Tunisian skills, with 902 cooperators (75% of total recruitment).
Saudi Arabia was the top recruiter with 398 professionals, followed by Qatar with 220 cooperators. According to the ATCT, 41 recruitment committees visited Tunisia during the first half of 2013 to interview candidates and assess available human resources. The Agency also received 121 job offers.
Regarding bilateral and triangular cooperation, the ATCT sent 28 Tunisian experts on technical assistance missions, including 25 experts for a campaign against blindness in Burkina Faso, Libya, and Cameroon. Three Tunisian experts were deployed to implement quality systems in various countries.
Furthermore, the Agency organized 10 training sessions in Tunisia for 112 professionals from 31 African and Arab countries. These sessions covered various topics such as infectious diseases, taxation, tourism, French language, and book publishing and distribution.
It should be noted that the total number of Tunisian cooperators and experts working abroad reached 13,300 on June 30, 2013.
