To relaunch social dialogue, the Minister of Employment and Social Affairs, Abdeslam Seddiki, met on Monday in Casablanca with the president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Miriem Bensalah Chaqroun.
This meeting is part of consultations with all professional and trade union organizations. For Abdeslam Seddiki, it was mainly a matter of listening to the concerns of the CGEM and explaining the government's desire to relaunch social dialogue with all social partners as soon as possible.
The Minister of Employment and Social Affairs said he was optimistic that a consensus could be reached on the main issues, including the right to strike, occupational accidents, workers' health and social coverage.
The operationalization of unemployment benefits, the project on trade union freedom and the regulation of the right to strike are, among others, the subjects discussed with the minister, underlined Ms. Bensalah Chaqroun.
She also outlined the CGEM's expectations regarding job stability and flexibility, in this difficult period of low growth, to maintain a number of jobs.
