Med-IT 2011 from November 15 to 17
The 3rd edition of Med-IT, the International Information Technology Fair, will take place from November 15 to 17, 2011 at the Office des Changes in Casablanca. The event will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and New Technologies and in partnership with Apebi, the Association of Information Technology Professionals.
In a rapidly growing market, supported by the Maroc Numeric 2013 Plan, the Med-IT Fair, which welcomes 4,000 professional visitors and 170 exhibitors each year, showcases innovative technologies for businesses in the Moroccan market.
The event has established itself as a popular meeting place for decision-makers who come in large numbers to discover new IT equipment and solutions, learn about major market trends, review project progress, meet key suppliers, and forge partnerships with foreign companies participating in the fair.
Beyond the tools and solutions presented, Med-IT also stands as a platform for reflection on current events and the evolution of ICTs. More than 50 conferences and workshops will be organized over three days. The 2011 edition's program includes major current topics such as: Cloud Computing, Datacenters, Virtualization, SAAS, mobile applications, Enterprise 3.0, social networks, and collaborative work.
As every year, the Med-IT Trophies will be organized in parallel with the Fair. Their objective is to highlight the most promising markets in order to encourage young people to invest in these new growth sectors. This year's competition will focus on "the best Moroccan mobile applications." Indeed, the mobile application market is booming and is expected to triple in 2012. With 180 million Smartphones sold worldwide, demand is only growing. Therefore, it has been decided to make mobile applications the main theme of the 2011 edition's Trophies.
