Social Media: Five Mistakes to Avoid

Here are the most common mistakes we have identified.

1/ Indicating in your title that you are looking for a job

Reserve your profile title for your job title (e.g., Sales Engineer). In the "Presentation" section, you can, in about ten lines, indicate your job search, your objectives, and your skills, making sure to choose the right keywords to optimize search engine results.

2/ Not including a photo

Simply because a profile without a photo gives the impression of an inactive profile.

3/ Contacting everyone who views your profile

It's normal for your profile to be viewed by people you don't know. However, this doesn't mean they want to contact you. Therefore, only reach out to those whose profiles interest you.

4/ Sales pitches

Professional social networks are now replacing networking and allow you to look for a job without it seeming obvious. It is therefore essential to craft your messages carefully.

5/ Spam

Absolutely avoid repeatedly sending messages to all your contacts promoting your company or indicating that you are looking for a job.
