How to boost team spirit

The atmosphere is often much better and employees complement each other better. "A good atmosphere boosts the collective result and makes success enjoyable," this is what Mohamed Benouarrek, HRD Maghreb of a multinational company, told us.

These few words sum up the secret of success of some companies whose top management has understood the importance of good cohesion between employees.
And for good reason, since the business world is full of opportunities, but also of fierce competition, success is never achieved without collective work and the involvement of all employees.

That said, it is not easy to reach this stage, it requires upstream work to establish a team spirit and stimulate the feeling of belonging to a work group. To achieve this, it is wise to energize the group, especially since there are some elements that have difficulty working as a team. So, how to succeed in this step? "Team spirit is cultivated," coaches and human resource management specialists keep repeating. There are a few tips to stimulate this spirit.

Certainly, within a group of people, there are always problems, but it is up to the manager to manage these sensitivities and to establish a balance. These employees will have to learn to respect themselves, as well as others within the group. A climate of cooperation within the group, mutual help, respect and valuing differences, synergy and mutual support…, are all values that help to instill team spirit. This rhymes with integration, and to achieve this, multiple methods exist, including the multiplication of events (birth, promotion, celebration of achieving objectives…), good communication, supervision of newcomers, encouragement of teams, recognition… Team building particularly helps to strengthen cohesion among staff members. This technique is increasingly widespread in the business world internationally and is beginning to take root in Morocco.

This is evidenced by the number of sessions organized in the last two years by large national groups and some structured companies for the benefit of their employees. Managers have understood that in addition to know-how, it must also be accompanied by savoir-vivre which will allow the team to bring out the best in each employee. Team building sessions include activities that give team members the opportunity to get to know each other outside of the company. These meetings are organized in a friendly place, often outdoors, if the weather permits of course. Result: the atmosphere is often much better and team members complement each other better, which is reflected in the company's results.
