Returning from Vacation: How to Get Back to Work Serenely

There's a time for everything: a time for vacation and a time to return to work. How can you return to the office with a smile? Are there any tips to maintain your "mental tan"?
1. Overcome Post-Vacation Fatigue
It's normal to feel a little uneasy about seeing your colleagues and the pile of paperwork waiting for you, but this shouldn't prevent you from enjoying life and this new year. Maintaining your enthusiasm, optimism, and desire to do well is possible. But to do so, you must first combat post-vacation fatigue.
You've recharged, you've released stress and tension, so don't sabotage it all in a few days. Avoid excesses upon your return. This means no more late nights, overeating, or constantly switching tasks. Try to refocus slowly and return to your usual, healthy routine. Consider taking short naps, 5 to 20 minutes, for a few weeks to recover your natural rhythm.
2. Get Back to Work and Keep Exercising
Maintaining morale means maintaining energy. So don't stop exercising and staying active, just like you did while away from the office: jogging, weight training, walking, swimming… Keep up your good habits or quickly get back to them.
3. Dealing with Workplace Jealousy
If possible, bring back a small souvenir for some colleagues. This will ease the transition for everyone and encourage your coworkers to fill you in on what you missed. Don't get upset by smirks asking about your good mood—or the opposite—or bitter comments about how they had to work! Your kindness and good humor will attract theirs.
Have a good return to work everyone!
