Seven Tunisians among the 500 most influential Arab personalities in the world.

The Arabian Business magazine has just published its ranking of the 500 most influential Arab personalities in the world. Among them are seven Tunisians.

These are: Amira Yahyaoui (179), Lina Ben Mhenni (190), Habib Selmi (385), Saber Rebai (427), Brahim Dargouthi (460), Azzedine Alaia (478) and Hend Sabri (491).


In this prestigious list drawn up by the Arab magazine, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud is at the top. The first woman is in third place; this is the Saudi Reem Asaad. While the diva Fairuz occupies 29th place.

The Gulf States and Lebanon hold the top spots in the ranking. North Africa, on the other hand, is behind in this ranking. But the battle is fierce between Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia in the next ranking of the 10 most influential Maghrebis in the world.

10) Morocco - Hynd Bouhia (251st) was an economic advisor whose mission was to attract foreign investment.

9) Morocco - Fatima Mernissi (250th) is the author of numerous works on the place of women in the Muslim community.

8) Morocco - Abdelatif Jouahri (231st), this economist was appointed governor of his country's central bank. He is also director of the British Arab Commercial Bank.

7) Algeria - Issad Rebrab (215th) is the founder of one of Algeria's largest companies, Cevital, but he is known for being behind the construction of a gigantic industrial complex worth 20 billion dollars.

6) Morocco - Alami Lazraq (209th) made a fortune investing in Moroccan real estate and tourism. He is one of the richest people in North Africa. Forbes magazine estimates his fortune at 575 million dollars.

5) Tunisia - Lina Ben Mhenni (190th) This 28-year-old blogger was thrust into the spotlight in a few months. She became one of the spokespersons for the Tunisian revolution abroad. She followed the revolution live and fed her blog with various photos and videos.

4) Morocco - Miloud Chaabi (188th), an entrepreneur from a young age, he owns the Riad Mogador hotel chain. With a fortune he estimates at 3 billion dollars, Chaabi is one of the richest men in Morocco.

3) Tunisia Amira Yahyaoui (179th) is a human rights activist, an active opponent of former President Ben Ali. This opposition has caused her many problems.
