Several benefits have been made available to unemployed higher education graduates to launch projects in the gypsum industry. This was indicated by the regional director of vocational training and employment in Sidi Bouzid, Nizar Khaldi, specifying that this includes investment and training allowances, and credits allocated by the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS).
Gypsum outcrops in Tunisia are known in several parts of the country, especially in the Meknassi delegation, knowing that Tunisia is ranked second after Canada in terms of gypsum reserves.
Mr. Khaldi explains that the regional directorate has prioritized young people to help them launch their projects in the gypsum industry, as it is a highly sought-after material in the construction and public works sector.
It should be noted that the world-renowned Knauf Plaster company opened a new training center in the city of Meknassi in September 2014, as part of the Employment Fund's program, to provide vocational training to unemployed young people in the gypsum industry.
