Sidi Bouzid: Advantages for Graduates to Start Plaster Industry Projects

A set of advantages have been made available to unemployed higher education graduates to launch projects in the gypsum industry, said Nizar Khaldi, the regional director of vocational training and employment in Sidi Bouzid.

These include investment and training grants in addition to credits allocated by the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS), he specified.

Gypsum deposits in Tunisia are known in several parts of the country, particularly in the Meknassi delegation, with Tunisia ranked second after Canada in terms of gypsum reserves.

"The regional directorate has prioritized young people to help them launch their projects in the gypsum industry, a material in high demand in the building and public works sector," recalled the regional director of vocational training.

Knauf Platres, a globally known company, opened a new training center in Meknassi last September as part of the employment fund program to provide vocational training to unemployed young people in the gypsum industry.
