Be a Happy Salesperson

"Salesperson", the oldest profession in the world!
Since the dawn of time, we have exchanged, bartered, and sold with the hope of benefiting from this arrangement. Every business must sell to exist! Products, services, or others... there will always be room for salespeople. This profession does not know crises.

But let's think about how to become a happy salesperson...
For a salesperson, the greatest victory must be one where both parties are satisfied with the agreement. Conversely, when only one party benefits, it's a bad deal, a deception, sometimes even fraud.
To avoid these pitfalls, it's important to respect a few rules that will make you a happy salesperson, and therefore happy customers!

Choose your world and the right company
To be a happy salesperson, you must first be aware of the profession of salesperson and avoid going to a company that is afraid of the words "salespeople", "sales representatives"... The profession itself must be recognized within the company, and the employer must know how to motivate its salespeople.
We advise you to find a company that invests in the training of its salespeople. Because selling is an art that requires work, full of sales techniques that must be learned, reviewed, and ingrained...

The good salesperson is the one who will give the feeling that everything he does is perfectly natural. While everything he does is simply the fruit of his preparation work, his training, and his perseverance in learning sales techniques perfectly.

Then, choose a world that suits you. Some will be more comfortable selling services, others selling products. Ask yourself the question: Do I need to sell something "tangible"? Sell a printer or training? A mobile phone or learning a foreign language? We will always be happier in a world that suits us.

Know your qualities and your motivators
Like any profession, that of salesperson requires qualities without which it will be difficult to be happy in your profession.
Curiosity, open-mindedness, humility are among the "essentials" to be a happy salesperson:
- Curious to be interested in their clients, however diverse they may be.
- Open-minded to fight against all preconceived notions (I hear too often salespeople confusing what they want for the client and what the client needs!).
- Humble because the final decision belongs to the client, and whatever his choice, it will be the best for him.

To be happy in the profession of salesperson, you must also be motivated by certain aspects that are the very essence of this profession:
- Love risk because a salesperson's counter (his objectives) regularly returns to zero, and he must prove himself recurrently.
- Of course, love money and accept having a salary that can vary (sometimes significantly) depending on the achievement of objectives.
- And finally, have constant good humor to carry the client along in your enthusiasm and conviction.

This profession has this last advantage. It is one of the few professions truly open to everyone: beginners, experienced, young, less young, men, women... So if your heart tells you to, go for it and be a happy salesperson!
