Temporary Work: The FNETT Defends a Real Status for Temporary Workers

Contribute to improving the conditions of temporary workers; this is the slogan chanted by the National Federation of Temporary Work Companies (FNETT). The federation is returning to the charge and is calling, more than ever, for the structuring of the profession in a formal and rigorous manner. "We are working to give a positive image to this sector of activity which, for some time now, in view of a number of conflicts, has been giving off a negative image," emphasizes Jamal Belahrach, president of the FNETT.

Indeed, the FNETT aims to defend a real temporary worker status. "The situation must change radically; we cannot let this sector get lost in the meanders. Instead of being perceived as a problem, temporary work is the adequate solution to integrate into the chain of modern work." Thus, the National Federation of Temporary Work has formulated amendments in order to revitalize this sector and restructure it. "Our amendments have a particular philosophy," indicates Mr. Belahrach, continuing that "legislative vigilance must allow for continuous improvement of the legal provisions governing the employment relationship, specifically in terms of intermediation." The federation's proposals aim to define the temporary work company, to replace direct surety with a bank guarantee, to broaden the scope of temporary work companies, to adapt the duration of the task to the reality of the company's needs, and to identify the obligations of each party, namely the worker, the intermediary company, and the user company. It should be noted that temporary work is a win-win dynamic.

If, for the temporary employee, temporary work allows him to capitalize on his training, develop his experience, and increase his employability with a view to permanent employment, this activity guarantees the user company more flexibility and competitiveness. Indeed, temporary work allows these companies to adapt their workforce according to market demand and to concentrate, among other things, on their profession instead of being scattered in the recruitment and selection of temporary workers. Temporary work also combats undeclared work. According to the federation, temporary work companies contribute to increasing the CNSS tax base and contribute to reducing unemployment by playing their role as a dynamic interface.
