Tunisia - New pilot industrial zone in Ennahli will create 25,000 jobs.

"A pilot industrial zone to be created in the Ennahli region (North Ariana) on 100 hectares will offer more than 25,000 jobs," announced Mr. Ridha Saidi, Minister in charge of Economic and Social Affairs.

On the sidelines of the Turkish-Maghreb economic partnership seminar, organized on Sunday in Hammamet, the minister declared to TAP that "this environmentally friendly zone will host nearly 1000 Turkish economic companies."

"About 50 hectares have already been developed, pending the completion of the procedures for changing the vocation of the remaining land and its development," said Mr. Saidi.

He noted that "thanks to the good relations it maintains with all the countries of the Maghreb region and the incentive advantages it offers, Tunisia is able to establish a strategic partnership with Turkey." And added "that the visit that the Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will make to Tunisia at the end of March 2013, at the head of a large governmental and economic delegation, will promote bilateral relations."

This visit, Mr. Saidi specifies, will also be an opportunity to materialize the partnership between Tunisia and Turkey through the opening of an office in Tunis of the Turkish Agency for Technical and Economic Cooperation (TIKA).

Referring to the situation of the Tunisian economy, the minister indicated that the government's economic and social program is not a subject of disagreement within the current troika. "This consensus on economic issues will remain valid even if the governmental coalition is expanded," he explained.
