Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister Jean Asselborn affirmed his country's willingness to support Tunisia in developing trade, boosting investment and reviving tourism.
During a meeting on Tuesday in Tunis with Finance Minister Houcine Dimassi, the Luxembourg official called for boosting cooperation between the two countries in the services sector, particularly financial services, by leveraging Luxembourg's expertise in this area.
For his part, the Minister of Finance reviewed the challenges facing Tunisia during this period. These mainly involve boosting economic activity, returning to positive growth, encouraging investment, creating jobs and improving citizens' living conditions.
He noted that the decline in the state's own resources has increased pressure on the state budget, indicating that the government will work within the framework of the supplementary budget law to develop new guidelines targeting a fairer distribution of wealth. (TAP)
