The Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Enterprises (CONECT) and the Qatari Friendship Fund (QFF) signed an agreement on Friday to create more than 500 innovative projects in 14 governorates, mainly in the interior of the country, creating around 4,500 jobs over the next three years.
With the support of the QFF, CONECT plans to create, develop and operate an integrated innovation and entrepreneurship platform, according to a CONECT press release issued Friday.
This project aims to stimulate projects with high growth and internationalization potential and to offer them training/coaching and support services, from the idea/opportunity to development, including business creation and launch.
CONECT aims to make this platform a one-stop shop for entrepreneurship, aggregating and complementing the disparate services, actors and existing initiatives in favor of business and sustainable job creation.
The project presented involves some of the most disadvantaged Tunisian regions: CONECT is already represented by regional offices in these target regions.
The agreement was signed by the Qatari Ambassador to Tunisia, Abdallah Naceur Al Hamdi, and Tarak Chérif, President of CONECT, in the presence of Hafedh Laamouri, Minister of Professional Training and Employment.
