Tunisia: 21 projects struggle to launch in Jendouba.

Lack of funding, difficulty acquiring land at a symbolic price, and an unstable climate are the main problems hindering the implementation of new projects in the Jendouba governorate.

According to data from the Industrial Promotion Agency (API) in Jendouba, about 21 projects are struggling to get off the ground. They should create nearly 1760 jobs.
Among these projects are the construction of units for producing pasta, processing tomatoes, manufacturing tiles and paper, as well as cold storage facilities.
Other projects for processing fruit and potatoes and manufacturing construction materials have been abandoned by their promoters due to cumbersome administrative procedures.
In a statement to the TAP agency, the regional director of the API, Abderraouf Ben Salah, indicated that among the reasons for the decrease in investments in the Jendouba governorate are the lack of financial resources for young promoters and the reluctance of banks to finance new projects.
He recommended facilitating administrative procedures, encouraging banks to finance projects, and launching a regional fund for financing projects adapted to the specificities of the region.
He also stressed the importance of creating an investment center in the processing industries, including all the necessary components (production, collection, and processing).
