Tunisia: 3 out of 4 young people plan to create their own projects, according to a survey.

73% of young people surveyed (students, unemployed and employed...), intend to create their own projects, compared to 27% who do not, according to the results of the first edition of the "Entrepreneurial Intentions" barometer, presented on Friday in Tunis.

This barometer, conducted by the Center for Young Entrepreneurs (CJE), under the IACE (Arab Institute of Business Leaders), aims to measure entrepreneurial intent among young Tunisians in order to assess the environment in which entrepreneurs operate and to help in decision-making regarding the orientation of government policies in support of this sector. It is based on a sample of 200 people (52.1% men and 47.9% women), aged between 20 and 30.

Regarding the willingness to create a business, 54% of young people responded affirmatively, compared to 27% who expressed no desire in this regard.

The main obstacles to entrepreneurship mentioned by these young people are financial difficulties (28.7%), the country's economic situation (17.9%), difficulties in setting up (15.5%), problems related to the start-up of the project (14.7%) and the slowness of administrative procedures (11.6%).

By creating their own projects, young Tunisian entrepreneurs primarily aim to be independent (30.2%), earn more money (19.5%), realize a dream (16.9%), implement an idea (13.9%), take up a challenge (13.3%) and flourish (6.2%).
