The head of government, Mehdi Jomaa, when presenting the 2014 supplementary budget bill to the ANC, called for its rapid adoption, as it includes a set of consensual measures.
During a press conference, the head of government stressed that the fight against smuggling, strengthening tax compliance, boosting investment and growth are the pillars of this project.
He further specified that these pillars can be organized into four areas: namely, encouraging tax compliance; the fight against smuggling; the rationalization of government spending related to ministries, public institutions, and the rationalization of subsidies and compensation.
