Tunisia: Significant Increase in Tunisian Cooperators Abroad

The Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation ensured the recruitment of 2663 Tunisian cooperators by November 30, 2012, including 270 first-time job seekers. This represents a 36.1% increase compared to the same period in 2011. These recruitments covered education and teaching with 1424 recruits (53.47%), health with 556 recruits (doctors and paramedical professionals), and commerce and marketing with 244 recruits.
Arab countries remain in the top position for recruiting Tunisian skills, with 83%, followed by European and African countries and international and regional organizations with 17% of recruitments.
The ATCT has seen an increase in the placement of Tunisian skills abroad. Indeed, 71 recruitment commissions came to Tunisia to interview Tunisian candidates and assess available human resources, a 75% increase in the total number of foreign delegations that came to the Agency in 2011. Furthermore, the Agency received 204 job offers this year compared to 145 in 2011, an increase of 40.6%. The Sultanate of Oman is in the lead in terms of recruitment with 589 Tunisian cooperators, followed by Saudi Arabia with 544 recruits and Qatar with 355 recruits.....
In addition, 36 Tunisian experts carried out technical assistance missions for Arab and African countries, within the framework of bilateral and triangular cooperation. This assistance covered port management and quality for the Sultanate of Oman, ophthalmology for the United Arab Emirates, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea, and South Africa. In the same context, the Agency organized more training sessions compared to the same period in 2011, where the number did not exceed 5 sessions for 21 managers. In 2012, 16 training sessions were organized in Tunisia for 175 African and Arab managers on various themes, including professional training, fish marketing and fish market management, project management and evaluation, quality, and molecular biology.
It should be noted that the total number of cooperators seconded to the ATCT working abroad is 12,808 Tunisian cooperators and experts.
