Tunisia-University Partnership between ISET of Sfax and Kirkwood Community College (USA)

A new university partnership has just been launched between ISET of Sfax and Kirkwood Community College (USA).

The choice of American community colleges for this partnership is explained by the similarities with the ISET education system in Tunisia, explains an American diplomatic source.

This program is designed to encourage the sharing of knowledge on the important role of community colleges, which serve nearly half of undergraduate students in the USA, promoting optimal access to the job market.

The partnership should also allow teaching staff and administrative staff to learn about the experience of community colleges in terms of professional qualification and university-business collaboration.

Other partnership programs will be launched this year between Tunisian and American universities, assures the same source.

The US Embassy in Tunis will provide a grant of $250,000 (approximately 384,000 dinars) for the implementation of this program at ISET de Sfax.

As a reminder, a $10 million fund (more than 15,300,000 dinars) was created in 2012 by the USA to provide scholarships allowing Tunisian students to study for a year in American universities.
