Tunisia: Teleperformance to create jobs

Rumors suggested that Teleperformance's call center in Tunisia might relocate to Morocco. This is false.

On the contrary, the company – a world leader in customer relations – confirms it will create jobs in Tunisia.
The rumor worried 5200 Tunisian employees and 300 Moroccan employees (the company operates in both countries). On January 31, Jacques Berrebi, co-founder and shareholder of Teleperformance, denied the rumor. "We are not considering relocating our activity to Morocco," the executive stated.

"Teleperformance believes in Tunisia, its people, and its youth. I can confirm that, despite the events the country has experienced, we will continue to ensure the company's sustainability and we even have growth projects," he added.
He also confirmed the group's "desire" to "bring growth and jobs" to Tunisia. Better yet, a sixth center should be established in downtown Tunis before the end of the first quarter of 2012. This should "create a few hundred jobs," according to him.
The total Tunisian workforce at Teleperformance should "increase by 500 to 1000 employees by the end of 2012."
Jacques Berrebi, from an old Tunisian family, also plans to invest in the Gafsa governorate. "There are over 5000 graduates in this region who are fluent in French," he indicated, announcing his intention to conduct recruitment tests for some of them.
