Forty franchising or future franchising companies from Tunisia, France, the USA, Italy, Canada, Egypt, and Spain participated in the second "Tunis-Medfranchise" trade show. This year's theme was "franchising: contributing to meeting the challenges of employment".
This event gave participating companies the opportunity to offer the right to operate their brands and commercial trademarks to individuals or legal entities.
Organized by the Tunis Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCITunis), in partnership with the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce, and Crafts (UTICA) and the Association of Chambers of Commerce of the Mediterranean, and inaugurated by Mr. Ridha Ben Mosbah, Minister of Commerce and Crafts, on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, in Tunis, this trade show presented companies an opportunity to showcase various franchise business activities, including services, restaurants, electronics, crafts, agri-food, training, and childcare.
The three-day trade show aimed to raise awareness and encourage Tunisian companies to expand their activities by adopting franchising as a pillar for their development and opening up to new national and international markets. This second edition also provided an opportunity for young entrepreneurs and university graduates to learn about this new mechanism and perhaps try their chances at becoming franchisees.
