New Industrial Project in Kairouan

Efforts are intensifying in the Kairouan governorate to carry out several job-creating industrial projects, it was announced on Monday, March 12, 2012.
A large steel mill is soon to be built on 2 hectares in the Metbassta industrial zone, generating 300 jobs with overall investments estimated at 28 million dinars.
Separately, the Poulina group, specializing in ice manufacturing, recently started work on an annex in Kairouan, with investments of around 8 million dinars.
This industrial unit should generate 120 jobs.
The German shoe manufacturing company, established in the region for three years and employing 800 people, recently started major expansion work with a budget of 34 million dinars. Once completed, this work should generate a thousand additional jobs.
Furthermore, three new industrial zones will be developed over 50 hectares by the Industrial Land Agency, near the Tunis-Kairouan road, with investments estimated at 1.2 million dinars.
