Considered a "top priority" in the presidential program's guidelines, employment continues to receive special attention in Tunisia, with the ultimate goal of reducing unemployment rates, especially among higher education graduates.
Indeed, the unemployment rate has been steadily declining thanks to the various programs, plans, and mechanisms put in place to support job seekers across the country, including the Zaghouan governorate, where the rate has dropped from 21.2% in 2004 to 8.7% currently.
This significant reduction is mainly due to the substantial influx of industrial and agricultural investments. It is important to note that since 2007, some 4120 job seekers have benefited from professional integration programs. Meanwhile, the National Employment Fund (FNE) has helped 6649 candidates, including 665 higher education graduates, take advantage of its various mechanisms.
It should also be noted that 662 young people from underprivileged families have benefited from priority employment under a presidential program.
