The Africa Center of Manufacturing Excellence (ACME) is a leading advanced manufacturing hub specializing in Advanced Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, automation, and tooling. It operates as a center of excellence at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and is structured as a consortium that brings together leading industrial companies.


Mission:

Lead and define the technical vision and innovation roadmap of ACME to establish the center as a world-class reference in advanced manufacturing and industrial innovation.

The Technical Head will oversee the development and execution of technical programs, R&D initiatives, industrial partnerships, and technology platforms while ensuring alignment with ACME's strategic objectives and industrial impact mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and execute ACME's technical and innovation strategy.
Develop long-term technology roadmaps aligned with industrial and academic priorities.
Position ACME as a recognized leader in advanced manufacturing and industrial innovation.
Lead multidisciplinary R&D programs and technical initiatives.
Ensure successful execution of research projects from concept through industrial implementation.
Support technology transfer from laboratory environments to industrial applications.
Define equipment, infrastructure, and technology investment needs.
Ensure technical excellence, operational efficiency, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
Support collaborative projects with national and international stakeholders.
Participate in technical reviews, industrial workshops, and strategic innovation discussions.
Lead and mentor engineering, technical, and research teams.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and execution.
Support recruitment, coaching, and development of technical talent.
Participate in ACME executive leadership and strategic planning activities.
Monitor technical budgets, project performance, and KPIs.
Establish technical governance, methodologies, and best practices.
Ensure alignment between technical activities and business objectives.

Required profile :

Qualifications and Experience:

PhD or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering or Engineering, or closely related area required.

10 years experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams and complex industrial projects in an aerospace environment.

Experience working with industrial partners and applied research programs.

Ability to lead projects from concept to execution to conclusion is required.

Strong communication and documentation skills in English. Fluency in French would be a plus.
