Born out of the desire to meet the economic, social, and development challenges of Morocco and Africa, the International University of Rabat (UIR), under contract with the Moroccan State, was founded in 2010 and has quickly established itself as a reference institution in higher education, recognized for its innovative model and international outlook, in line with the best standards of higher education and research.

The University is ranked among the best universities in the world, notably in the prestigious THE World University Rankings, at 801-1000, as well as in the THE Impact Rankings - Sustainability, at 400-500.

The Rabat Business School (RBS) now holds the three leading international management accreditations - AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA - and is ranked in the Top 10 worldwide by the Financial Times for its Masters in Management. This recognition makes RBS the first Business School in Morocco and French-speaking Africa to hold all three accreditations, and the fifth in Africa, a level of excellence achieved by less than 1% of Business Schools globally.

Innovation is also a major focus of its strategy. With nearly 794 patents filed, including 142 under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), UIR confirms its commitment to actively contribute to scientific production, innovation, and technological development in Morocco and Africa. Several innovations have been awarded prestigious prizes, notably at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva and the International Exhibition of Inventions in the Middle East.

Resolutely future-oriented, UIR is pursuing an ambitious development trajectory, driven by a multi-campus model, with the goal of reaching 41,000 students by 2040.
