Learn to Stop Procrastinating...

At work, do you have a serious tendency to postpone tasks until tomorrow? You are probably prone to procrastination. Here are some tips to help you reverse the trend!

* Kan Ban rules! Kan Ban is the 'just-in-time' production management method - in other words, 'zero stock' - born in Japan in 1950 and which has largely contributed to the success of Japanese companies since. To combat the effects of procrastination, apply the Kan Ban method to your daily task management: messages processed immediately upon receipt, meeting reports sent within the hour... an exercise that may seem difficult for beginners but quickly brings satisfaction.

* Plan! Poor organization encourages procrastination. The remedy? To Do lists with realistic goals! Every evening, before leaving the office, write down your tasks for the next day on a sheet of paper, which you will cross off with a vigorous stroke of the pen as soon as they are completed. You will see, in addition to helping you get your day off to a good start, it's also a stress reliever. To maximize your chances of keeping your commitments, divide your working days into quarters: beginning and end of the morning, beginning and end of the afternoon. And start by planning to take care of simple tasks at the beginning of each half-day.

* Set yourself challenges. Dare or not dare to finish my excel report before noon (and have lunch with peace of mind)? Surprise yourself, and also announce to your colleagues the 'challenge' you are undertaking. Since you certainly don't want to lose face with them, it will further motivate you.

* Learn to delegate and say no!
To avoid being overwhelmed by tasks, entrust some of them to the rest of your team, or refuse them if you think you are overloaded and that you will not have time to complete everything. As much as possible, try to keep for yourself the tasks that interest you the most, those that you will have the most chance of completing without too much difficulty.
