Dear Members,
Many of you wish to apply anonymously, but many lack vigilance when it comes to managing your confidentiality.
To avoid unpleasant surprises, below are 3 essential steps to follow when applying for a career opportunity. These will allow you to properly manage your anonymity and avoid unpleasant surprises.
Step 1: Ensure your attached CV is anonymous
The first thing to do, and by far the most important, is to make sure your attached CV is anonymous, which is often not the case.
Create two CVs, one normal, one anonymous. Anonymous means you mask your identity (name, surname), remove your photo if included, and hide your current employer.
However, keep a valid, anonymous email address. You can create a Gmail account with a pseudonym, but be careful not to use an address with your name and surname, as your identity will be immediately revealed.
Step 2: Complete your ExeKutive Profile correctly
It’s also very important to complete your ExeKutive profile correctly. Don't just use a sentence or copy/paste your CV; describe in a few lines what you can't put on your CV, as the text field is unlimited.
You can make sections confidential by checking the box "This information must be hidden if my profile is sent confidentially" for each section.
Tip: Don't hide the "career summary" or "skills" sections; they are most important to recruiters.
Rest assured, knowing your professional background (without company names) and skills won't reveal your identity to the recruiter!
Step 3: Check the "Confidential Mode" box when applying
When applying, check the "Confidential Mode" box to anonymize your profile.
If you don't, your profile will be in normal mode, so be careful and read the instructions carefully! Again, make sure your attachment is confidential.
By following these steps, you can manage your career confidentially and without risk of unpleasant surprises.
You control your ExeKutive profile. Only companies you send your application to can contact you.
There is no CV database on ExeKutive. Companies cannot access your profile if you haven't applied, so don't worry about that, but be vigilant when maintaining anonymity and check everything before clicking "apply".
