Boeing invites its subcontractors to set up in Morocco and begins expanding its subsidiary Matis.

The American aircraft manufacturer Boeing invited its suppliers to set up in Morocco at the end of March, where it has already started expanding its subsidiary specialized in wiring.

"Our clients demand more for less money. We must face this reality with our suppliers. Creating more value for less money, that's why you are here", declared Kent Fisher, General Manager of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Supplier, at the Boeing Company Business Symposium 2015 held in Casablanca in the presence of several aeronautical equipment manufacturers such as Triumph, Aerospace, Diehl, GKN and Spirit.

"To benefit from a low labor cost, why not go to Mexico or China? Why Morocco? Because the quality of the workforce is excellent", said Bob Noble, Vice President in charge of the "Partnering for Success" program of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Supplier Management.

Boeing also announced that it has started a 40% expansion of Matis Aerospace, its 50/50 joint venture with Labinal Power Systems, a subsidiary of the Safran group.

The expansion of this company specializing in wiring will cost 6 million dollars, according to the American aircraft manufacturer. It should generate 350 additional jobs.

Note that Boeing's rival, the European group Airbus, has also established some of its sourcing in Morocco via the company Maroc Aviation or the future Aerolia component factory under construction in the Midparc free zone in Nouaceur.
