How do you know it's time to leave? Why make the decision to disrupt your habits? Even bad ones, they are often quite secure... However. The time of stagnant careers is over, and honestly, some signs are unmistakable. Learn to recognize them.
1. Your relationship with your superior has become unbearable.
Your superior is the captain of the ship. If they can no longer motivate their team, if they are no longer able to advise, to understand real slowdowns and difficulties, if they no longer allow the crew to excel, they are no longer fulfilling their mission.
If, furthermore, humanly speaking, the "feeling" is no longer there, if interactions seem difficult, heavy, complex, it is probably imperative to sail towards other horizons...
2. Your company is losing momentum.
If you, as an employee, think in terms of career progression, the company you work for must be competitive and the sector promising. Remaining trapped in a... cardboard box will get you nowhere. Consider the dynamism and growth of your company above all else. Remember, indeed, that when you "resell" yourself, the name and reputation of your company will not be small change.
3. You no longer see any possible advancement.
Looking at the horizon and seeing nothing coming should be a warning sign. If it's true that you've been waiting a long time for advancement and it's as slow as a childhood dream, you must react. Seeking opportunities elsewhere is not a whim, nor a luxury, but a duty.
4. Your salary is set in stone.
Of course, money doesn't buy happiness... But it contributes, you've experienced that enough. While it is true that, in many companies, salary increases are low, and that a 10% increase is somewhat utopian, it remains that without a substantial salary increase, you risk losing the money you are not earning!
