Call centers generate 4.5 billion dirhams in annual export revenue and currently employ 45,000 people. But there is an obstacle to the growth of this sector in Morocco.
The main issue is the training of teleadvisors. To address this, the Office of Vocational Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT) and the Moroccan Association of Customer Relations (AMRC) signed a partnership agreement on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Rabat to train teleadvisors in call centers.
The agreement commits the OFPPT to setting up qualifying training in communication and offshore customer relations. This training meets the skills needs expressed by the AMRC, particularly the teleadvisors’ mastery of French and Spanish communication.
For its part, the AMRC undertakes to provide practical training through internships in member companies to strengthen their integration into the job market.
For the Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, who presided over the signing ceremony, "this agreement constitutes a pool of resources for the call center sector and will contribute to the realization of the objectives of the 2014-2020 national industrial acceleration plan, which establishes training among its flagship measures,"
Training began last October in 23 establishments under 7 regional directorates of the OFPPT with the support of AMRC professionals.
