It’s Time for Good Resolutions

Stop being like a squeezed lemon: always keep an hour of calm per day, balance your activities... And regain your energy to give meaning to your actions and zest to your life.

Take back control of your life: move from imposed time to chosen time! "Some people handle multiple activities with very busy days and are very satisfied. Others have fewer activities but complain about time management issues. The difference? The former make a conscious choice; the latter are subjected to it and live it badly", diagnoses Jean-Pierre Testa, head of professional efficiency training at Cegos.

Too many people forget or lose the meaning of what they do daily. "But life loves those who know what they want", notes André Muller, author of *The Technique of Success* (Diateino Editions), a surprising bookstore success, reprinted for two years and currently being translated into... Chinese! Our multiple professional and social roles often make us lose sight of the essentials. Think about what you put at the center of your life: "What do I want to do with my life?", "What matters most to me?" You must periodically ask yourself all these questions and make choices. "People who are clear about their mission succeed better in their work. They have a direction in life. A star. A compass. They then find it easier to manage their time and priorities", observes Bruno Savoyat, director of IBT and author of *The Secrets of Efficiency* (Maxima editions).

The goal you set for yourself doesn't have to be modest, quite the contrary. "The higher the goal, the more interesting the action becomes and, consequently, the less you feel its weight", notes André Muller. An ambitious goal galvanizes the one who pursues it. Boring tasks carried out week after week can also be done enthusiastically if they participate in the execution of a great design: "The goal attracts me. It allows me to do only what contributes to its realization." The goal will motivate you. It will create the energy you will need to achieve it. It creates the means. A great goal is not a source of difficulty. Conversely, it facilitates everything and pushes you forward.
