The beginning of the year is the time to take stock of the past months. And to restart by adopting a few resolutions to improve your daily work life and, more broadly, your professional life.
1. Take care of your appearance. At work, it's essential to make a good impression. So, don't neglect your clothing. Men should pay attention to themselves, women can wear makeup, and nobody should let themselves get overweight, which, depending on the work environment, can be discriminatory!
2. Preserve your health by exercising. Sports during lunchtime, a yoga session, or even a brisk walk; these practices have a huge impact on physical and mental well-being, and therefore on concentration and productivity.
3. Follow basic dietary rules. Eat a balanced lunch and, if hungry, eat something mid-morning or afternoon (vegetable juice, yogurt, energy bar...). Don't forget to drink water.
4. Recharge during the day. If you can't take a nap, you can always take a few minutes to disconnect: close your eyes, breathe, stretch, take a few steps to relieve pressure and regain energy.
5. Think of yourself. This means organizing yourself to take time for yourself, your family, and hobbies. So, there's no need to stay at the office later than necessary or take home files that can wait until the next day.
6. Get back into a learning position. A language, a new technique (how to use new software, for example), training, or evening classes; it's a rewarding attitude that can lead to new opportunities.
7. Advance your career. This involves a job change, more responsibility, a raise. You can also start looking elsewhere or change your professional orientation.
8. Make yourself respected. Impoliteness and unfounded demands should be refused. When facing a superior or colleague, calmly explain things and set limits clearly. The most timid can first prepare themselves internally to react.
9. Protect yourself from harmful environments. When possible, it's best to distance yourself from toxic people (change your seat, see them less often); otherwise, adopt an inner attitude that allows you to free yourself from their influence.
10. Adopt an eco-friendly attitude. Use a porcelain cup or mug instead of plastic cups, turn off the lights when you leave a room, only print paper if necessary (and then prefer black and white), use the back of already used sheets as scrap paper, lower the heating...
