What You Revealed: Candidate Experience in the Spotlight

Your experience matters. Whether you are actively looking for a job or simply listening to the market, each interaction with a company leaves a lasting impression. That is why, in October 2024, we invited 868 candidates to share their feelings about recruitment processes. This survey aims to understand your expectations, highlight the weaknesses of current practices, and inspire recruiters to improve their approach.
Thanks to your answers, we have a clear view of the challenges and opportunities related to the candidate experience. Discover the results that highlight what you experience and what could be transformed.
1. An experience that influences much more than recruitment
Interaction with recruiters impacts your perception of companies on several levels:
92% of you share your experience with your entourage.
52% consider limiting or stopping their purchases from a company after a bad recruitment experience.
These figures highlight the importance of a careful experience to preserve a positive image.
2. Sometimes too vague advertisements
Job advertisements are often your first contact with a company. Here is what you think:
79% of respondents want more transparency, particularly on salary and responsibilities.
Only 4% find the advertisements "not clear at all", but there is still room for improvement.
3. Communication: an essential lever
Your answers show that the quality of communication is a crucial criterion in your perception of the process:
1 in 2 candidates considers communication to be "good to very good".
84% believe that discovering the work environment (premises, company culture) before applying is essential to making an informed decision.
4. Ghosting, a recurring problem
Nearly 50% of candidates have already been left without news by a company after an interaction. This lack of follow-up not only harms your experience but also the image of recruiters.
5. An experience that influences your choices
Finally, your answers show that the candidate experience does not stop at the interview:
A positive experience encourages you to accept an offer and recommend the company.
A negative experience can dissuade 25% of candidates from continuing to consume a company's products or services.
