- A new employment space inaugurated at Mohammed V University in Souissi
- 77 agencies across the country, not including offices in faculties
- E-intermediation and support for the creation of very small businesses strengthened
The Anapec (National Agency for the Promotion of Employment) is continuing its program of establishing a presence in universities. Seeking to get closer to employment resources, the Agency has, for several years, set up employment spaces in universities with the aim of "preparing students and graduates for working life." This allows students to find out about job market opportunities and to register in the Anapec database, which has over one million job seekers and more than 62,000 employer contacts. "The new portal dedicated to e-intermediation has also been improved to offer a range of online services for both job seekers and employers, distributing more than 100,000 job offers per year," highlighted Hafid Kamal, CEO of the Agency during the inauguration, in the presence of the Minister of Employment, Abdeslam Seddiki, of a new employment office at the Mohammed V University in Souissi, Rabat, last week. "Our university was the second in Morocco to have an employment space since 2005," recalled Redouane Mrabet, president of Souissi University. "However, for greater proximity to students, we have transferred this space to the university's reception, information, guidance and monitoring center." The development and equipment work was carried out by Anapec, which assigned a permanent team of 6 managers. Efforts have been deployed nationally to strengthen the Anapec agency network, which has grown from 24 in 2005 to 77 today, not including employment spaces in universities, Kamal indicated.
This inauguration took place during the launch of Student Employment Week, which reached nearly 400 schools and universities across the country. For the Minister of Employment, this event has become an annual meeting dedicated to informing students about job opportunities offered by the Moroccan economy, particularly in growth sectors such as aeronautics, automotive and finance. This event also features workshops for people who want to start their own businesses.
Participants benefit from training provided by specialists, including on access to credit, business plan preparation and customer research. "In this training, we draw students' attention to the risks threatening businesses, particularly in the start-up phase," said the Minister. In addition to this upstream support, the supervising department is studying how to support project leaders during the first few years, considered the most crucial for the sustainability of the business.
Support and Integration
Nationally, Anapec helped place over 56,700 young people in companies in 2013. In the Rabat region, more than 8,000 young people were able to find work through the agency. It also contributed to improving the employability of 1,454 young people under the Taahil program and supported others in creating 64 very small businesses.
