1. Covered Establishments:
A works council is established in any company that usually employs 50 or more employees.
2. Composition:
- The employer or their representative
- 2 elected employee delegates.
- 1 or 2 union representatives.
3. Main Mission:
The works council has a consultative role in the following areas:
- Structural and technological changes in the company.
- The social report after its establishment.
- The company's production strategy and ways to increase productivity.
- The development of social projects for the benefit of employees and the monitoring of their execution.
- Apprenticeship programs, literacy training, and employee continuing education.
4. Operation:
The employer must provide the committee members with all the necessary documents to enable them to carry out their assigned duties.
The committee must meet once every 6 months and as needed
