Although not everyone is convinced yet, home-based workers are increasingly appreciated. Not so long ago, they were considered lazy and faced mistrust from their colleagues. Fortunately, changes have now appeared.
More Integrated
According to a survey by Dell and Intel, only 52% of employees believe that their colleagues working from home are less productive. In fact, office employees consider them on an equal footing, namely colleagues working as much as them but from a different location.
All this indicates that the image of the teleworker benefiting from society is tending to disappear in favor of the mobile employee accepted by all.
Mistrust
The positivism linked to teleworking is not yet present in countries such as China, Turkey, India or the United Arab Emirates, where home-based workers are still seen as lazy people. 4 out of 10 employees claim that teleworkers are less productive. On the other hand, 29% of workers in developing countries are not sure what to think of these work practices.
Home-Based Workers
These are found to be much more productive than in a normal office, and believe that this type of work offers many advantages. 46% say they are less stressed, 40% indicate that they are faster, and 30% admit to being in better health and making up for their lack of sleep by sleeping better at night.
There is, however, a less healthy side to teleworking. 20% said they did less sport since they started working from home, and 28% admitted to craving snacks or other sweets more quickly.
