Are you a stressed person? If so, what causes you the most stress in your life? Is it your bills and lack of money? Your spouse? Your children? Your weight or physical appearance? Your job that you don't like? Your boss? The economic or political situation? Taxes?
I believe the main reason that causes you stress in life is that you know what to do, but you don't do it. I believe that it is inaction that causes you the most stress in your life. In this regard, you are your worst enemy. Let me explain.
I believe that you always know what is good for you. You always know what you should do in all occasions. In fact, you know perfectly well that when you are not sure about something, it is your instinct and your unconscious that are trying to send you a message. When something is good for you, you don't ask yourself questions and you simply do it. So, if you ask yourself questions, it's because something is not good for you.
The problem is not that you don't know if something is good or bad for you. The problem is that you don't do what is good for you, and that is precisely what causes you stress. Here are five examples:
- In order to enjoy better health and a better appearance, you know that you should eat less, better, and exercise more, but you don't. Realize that what causes you stress is not your weight, but rather your inaction in doing what you know you should do! Act and your stress will disappear!
- You may have a friend in your life who causes you stress with their negative attitude. Realize that your stress is not due to your friend, but to your inaction in ending that relationship. Act accordingly and your stress will disappear!
- You are having difficulty becoming financially stable and you often lack money at the end of the month to pay your bills. Realize that your stress is not due to a lack of money, but to your inaction in taking the necessary steps to spend less than you earn. Act accordingly and your stress will disappear!
- You may be experiencing stress because you don't like your job. You don't like some co-workers, the morning and evening traffic, your insufficient salary to meet all your needs and desires, etc. Realize that your stress does not come from your job, but from your inaction in finding another job or starting your own business. Act accordingly and your stress will disappear!
- If you are a boss, you may have an incompetent employee. You know you should fire him, but you don't. Realize that it is not the employee who is causing you stress, but rather your inaction in firing that employee that is poisoning your life and probably that of your clients. Act accordingly and your stress will disappear!
In summary, take responsibility, stop blaming external things for your misfortunes, and realize that it is your INACTION in doing what you know you should do that causes you the most stress in your life. You know what you should do in all situations, but you don't do it. Start now to trust your instincts and your inner voice more. Have the conviction that you always know what to do in all occasions and take action now to eliminate your stress.
