The president of the Union of Unemployed Graduates in Béja (UDC), Salem Ayari, called on the government to involve his organization in plans and programs to combat unemployment. During a meeting held last Saturday with unemployed university graduates, he threatened to organize protests in February.
Ayari stated that the UDC is currently reviewing the law on recruitment in the public service, as well as laws and "unfair" competitions, in his words. He stressed the need to involve the UDC in recruitment operations and to publish the results of competitions.
For his part, the regional coordinator of the UDC of Béja, Najd Hanachi, indicated that the bodies concerned have not involved university graduates in the monitoring of employment and training operations, calling on the state to grant transport facilities to graduates seeking jobs.
