The Minister of Employment and Social Affairs stressed the need to devise innovative solutions to address the issue of unemployment. Abdeslam Seddiki, on Saturday in Salé, underlined that the current growth rate is unable to meet urgent employment needs, insisting on the need to devise innovative solutions to remedy the problem of unemployment in the coming years.
During a seminar organized by the "Medersa" Foundation on raising awareness of business creation, Abdeslam Seddiki indicated that self-employment, through the creation of small businesses, and the solidarity economy, along with investment in sectors that offer significant employment opportunities, is one of the essential axes for reducing unemployment rates, particularly affecting the category of young people aged 15 to 24 (20%).
The minister noted that the efforts undertaken by the State through the programs of the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC) have enabled a large number of young people to be integrated into the job market, noting, however, that experience has shown that several initiatives among these business projects are doomed to failure after a short period.
He said that the ministry is working on ways to support project leaders, not only at the stage of procedures and administrative measures and the development of investment projects, but also after the creation of their business.
The minister recalled that the national employment strategy aims to promote a new proactive approach based on productive and decent work through the establishment of a new vision that targets, in the long term, optimal human capital enhancement, while ensuring productive and decent employment through the achievement of solid and sustainable economic development.
For his part, the president of the "Medersa" Foundation, Mehdi Sbaii, stressed that the creation of businesses by young people plays an important role in economic growth and human development in the country, insofar as it contributes to combating the phenomenon of unemployment and participates in regional development.
