The Qatar is ready to invest in agricultural projects with a strong impact on employment, given the undeniable potential of Morocco in the sector, said Thursday the Qatari Minister of Labor, Nasser bin Abdullah Al Humaidi.
"We are in Qatar willing to come and carry out job-creating projects in exchange for a share of the production", said Mr. Al-Humaidi during an interview with the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Abdelouahed Souhail, on the sidelines of the International Labor Organization (ILO) conference in Geneva.
He cited the experience of the Hassad company conducted jointly with friendly countries, calling it a new approach implemented by his country to build mutually beneficial partnerships.
In this context, Mr. Souhail addressed the issue of employment in the agricultural sector in Morocco and the potential offered by the labor market in terms of skills and professional qualifications.
The two ministers also discussed the launch in the Kingdom of a portal dedicated to employment, currently under finalization, to promote the exchange of data on job opportunities. They also agreed to set up a similar portal in Arabic for greater access to information on the subject.
On the other hand, the Qatari minister stressed the importance of "remote work" as a new framework for technical cooperation between the two countries.
The two parties agreed to further study the various cooperation projects between the two departments and to schedule a Qatari mission soon to Morocco in order to establish a suitable framework for bilateral partnership in this area.
On Wednesday, Morocco and Saudi Arabia decided to set up a joint database on job opportunities, with a view to better access for Moroccan skills to the Saudi labor market.
To this end, the two parties considered it appropriate to draw up a document defining a work methodology to better manage relations and exchanges between the labor departments of the two countries.
The ILO's annual conference provides an opportunity for member states to examine topical issues relating, among other things, to "collective bargaining in the public service", "sustainable development, decent work and green jobs" and "employment and social protection in the new demographic context".
